Hakone Kowakien is cheering for 'Our Hakone Ekiden'

2026/10/09

To commemorate the television drama adaptation of Jun Ikeido's youth ensemble work "Our Hakone Ekiden," Hakone Kowakien is hosting a collaboration project.

In "Our Hakone Ekiden," the story is set around the revival of a prestigious university track and field team and a TV station passionately broadcasting the relay, with episodes related to Hakone Kowakien also featured. The relay broadcasting point "In Front of Kowakien" originated when, at the start of the TV coverage, the Nippon Television staff were unable to secure accommodation, and Hakone Hotel Kowakien offered a place to stay. Today, Hakone Kowakien has become a well-known broadcast point where large numbers of cheering squads and fans gather.

On the 3rd floor exhibition space of Hakone Hotel Kowakien, there are three themed displays: "Interview with Jun Ikeido," "Episodes about Kowakien and the broadcasting team," and "Column by the first broadcasting producer, Mr. Sakata." Additionally, books are also available for purchase at the souvenir corner in front of the front desk.

Hakone Kowakien has walked hand in hand with the history of the Ekiden. We are also wholeheartedly supporting the television drama "Our Hakone Ekiden," which will begin broadcasting on Saturday, October 10.
